CANYON, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds (19-11, 9-5) faced the Vega Lady Horns (9-15, 6-4) in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday.
In the first quarter, the teams went back and forth, but it was the Lady Winds who led 16-14.
The lead would remain two for the Lady Winds as the teams went into halftime, 27-25.
Vega would come out in the third quarter and claim the lead over Floydada, 37-33.
In the fourth quarter, the Lady Winds would put up a game-high 20 points and claim the victory, for the first time in recent years, over the Vega Lady Horns, 53-50.
The Lady Winds were led in scoring by Zay Santos, who had 28 points and went 14 of 15 at the free throw line.
