Patsy Martin Patrick (Plainview)

Patsy Lanelle Patrick, 85, of Plainview, took her last earthly breath on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. The good news is she took her first breath in Heaven as well!

Patsy was born on December 9, 1937, in Flomot, Texas, to Raymond and Mildred (Graves) Martin. Her family moved to Deming, New Mexico, where they were involved in farming. Later moving to the Lockney, Texas area, where the family continued farming and Patsy attended school.

Patsy worked as a bank teller in El Paso, Plainview, and Lubbock. While at Hale County State Bank in Plainview, she met and married Mike Patrick of Plainview on February 20, 1965. They spent fifty-eight years together.

Together they raised five children while enduring frequent transfers to Lubbock, Abilene, and eventually Hereford due to Mike’s work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.

Not only was Patsy a full-time mother and wife, but she was also a full partner in the printing and office supply business, which they owned and operated in Hereford for seven years. After the family moved back to Plainview, she spent 32 years serving clients in Plainview and the surrounding area in the cleaning and restoration business under the name of Sunshine Cleaning Service.

Patsy loved working with people and was very good at it. Her customers loved dealing with her, frequently calling the office “just to visit.” She dearly missed the “customer contact” in her later years.

She is survived by her loving husband Mike, daughters Cindy Woodward of Jefferson, Texas, Vickie Salazar (husband Jerry) of Plainview, David Patrick (wife Debbie) of Plainview, her constant and loyal canine companion Bella, her sister-in-law Pam Bagley, eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mildred Martin; her brother (and best friend) Rayford; her sister Kay and Kay’s husband Leo; two sons, Keith Sandlin and Shawn Patrick and a grandson Jeremy Woodward.

Funeral arrangements are with Lemon’s Funeral Home of Plainview. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
