FLOYDADA, TX – For the past seven decades, the Floydada Lions Club has carved out a day on the local radio station to raise funds for scholarships and money for Texas Lions Camp.
Over the weekend, Tony Whitfill, Bill Harbin, and Ryan Crowe hosted the annual Lions Club Radio Day on KFLP-FM, reading local businesses’ advertising messages, playing music, and joking around on the air.
Lion Tommy Ogden has been a vital component of the event by organizing and selling the advertisements and preparing the copy to be read on the air but he could not attend the event this year due to illness.
Longtime member and Floydada Mayor Bobby Gilliland attended virtually.
