SUNDOWN, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds traveled to Sundown to play their first district game against the Roughnecks.
Sundown would strike first, as they would go ahead 7-0 in the first quarter.
The Whirlwinds would respond in the second quarter, as they tied the game at seven going into halftime.
In the third quarter, Sundown would regain their lead and go up 21-7.
Floydada’s Aiden Trevino would get the Whirlwinds back within one score in the third quarter behind a four-yard touchdown run, making it a 21-14 Roughneck lead.
Both teams would go scoreless in the fourth quarter, resulting in a Sundown victory over the Whirlwinds, 21-14.
Floydada moves to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the district.
Sundown is now 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the district.
