Keith Stansell (Floydada)
Keith Stansell, age 91 of Floydada, passed Saturday, December 2, 2023. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 8, 2023, at the City Park Church of Christ in Floydada, with Bob Dupont officiating. Interment will follow at Floydada Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2023 in the Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Floydada.
Keith was born November 25, 1932, to the late N.B. Stansell and Troye Willis Stansell Massey of Floydada, Texas. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1950, and on December 24, 1954, he married Geneva Adell Burke. They were married for 52 years. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, known for his generosity, friendliness, and humorous one-liners. He was known for his “big heart,” and four of his biggest passions were his grandchildren, fishing, golf, and traveling. He was devoted to his friends and even at 91, would join his friends frequently for coffee most mornings. Keith was a member of City Park Church of Christ.
Keith lived life fully and on his own terms with the blessings of the Lord until the day he passed. He was not one to pass up an opportunity to go somewhere and be with his family and friends. He brought a lot of wisdom, fun, and love to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Stansell; his parents, N.B. and Troye Stansell Massey; and his brother, Barry Stansell.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra, and son-in-law, Steve Lundgren of southern California and Lisa Stansell of Plainview; his two grandchildren, Russ Candelaria of Richardson, TX and Austin Candelaria of Floydada; and 3 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews and cousins.
