Lady Winds Extend Win Streak; Move to 3-0 in District

NEW DEAL, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds traveled to New Deal on Tuesday to battle in a district game against the Lady Lions.

Both teams came out in the first quarter slower on offense and ended the quarter tied 6-6.

In the second quarter, the Lady Winds tried to change the flow of the game in their favor, and going into halftime, they had a one-point lead (18-17).

The Lady Lions managed to stay close in the second half; however, the Lady Winds managed to hold off the comeback and secure the victory 42-38 over New Deal.

The Lady Winds were led in scoring by junior Katelynn Ramirez, who had 18 points.

Also contributing to the victory on Tuesday was senior Zay Santos, who had 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Floydada now improves to 3-0 in district play and 14-3 overall.
