Lady Winds Win Big for Eighth Straight in District

FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds played host to the Hale Center Lady Owls on Tuesday night in a district matchup.

The Lady Winds were able to take full control of the game from the opening tip-off as they went on a 15-5 run to end the first quarter.

Floydada’s pressure was too much for the Lady Owls’ offense, which only allowed a total of 12 points in the first half and would go into halftime with a 32-12 lead.

The Lady Owls searched for success in the second half but fell short to the Lady Winds on Tuesday with a final score of 68-38.

Floydada’s senior, Sierra Snowden, had a game-high 17 points and 20 rebounds in the win on Tuesday night.

Also contributing to the win were senior Zay Santos with 15 points and juniors Soriah Wickware and Katelynn Ramirez, both with 11 points.

Floydada remains in first place in district play at 8-0.
