SUDAN, TX – The #6-ranked Floydada Whirlwinds were on the road for Friday’s matchup against the Sudan Hornets.
Both teams went back and forth in the first quarter, but the Whirlwinds were able to take the lead 17-14.
Floydada was able to add pressure in the second quarter as they went on a 20-8 scoring run and would go into halftime up 37-22.
The Whirlwinds would continue their momentum in the second half and secure an 80-43 victory over Sudan.
Junior Braun Hobbs led the Whirlwinds in scoring with 31 points and 18 rebounds.
Junior Ty Henderson would celebrate his 1,000th career point in Sudan on Friday as he contributed 6 points and 3 rebounds in the win.
