FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds were the host to the New Deal Lady Lions on Tuesday as they played in a district game.
The Lady Winds put pressure on the Lady Lions early, going up 20-11 at the end of the first quarter.
Floydada scored a game-high 21 points in the second quarter and was able to extend their lead to 41-17 going into halftime.
Despite being outscored in the third quarter (17-13), the Lady Winds secured their 10th district victory, 66-37, over New Deal.
Lady Winds’ senior Zay Santos had a game-high 18 points as well as 6 rebounds.
Junior Katleynn Ramirez contributed 14 points, with 12 of those being three-pointers.
Sierra Snowden led the game in rebounds with 7 and also added 8 points to the victory over the Lady Lions on Tuesday.
The Lady Winds remain unbeaten in the district at 10-0 and will travel to Lockney on Friday.
