
The Floydada Lady Winds were presented as the District 4-2A Champions after their win against Smyer on Tuesday.
FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds were in district action on Tuesday as they played host to the Smyer Lady Cats.
The Lady Cats started the game off by applying pressure to the Lady Winds, but Floydada fought back in the second quarter to take a 35-23 lead going into halftime.
Floydada would start the third quarter on a run offensively that helped them outscore the Lady Cats 24-6 and extend their lead to 59-29.
The Lady Winds secured the 70-37 victory over Smyer on Tuesday and, with the win, secured the title of out-right district champions with two games still remaining on the schedule.
Floydada was led in scoring by senior Zay Santos, who had 17 points and 5 rebounds.
The Lady Winds improve to 23-3 overall and 12-0 in district play.
