FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds were in their final game of the regular season on Tuesday, as they were matched up against the Sudan Hornets.
The Whirlwinds got out to an early 30-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Floydada was able to continue pressure in the second quarter as they extended their lead 54-23 going into halftime.
The Whirlwinds would secure the victory in the second half 96-63 and are crowned as co-district champions alongside Olton.
Floydada was led in scoring by senior Aiden Trevino with 24 points.
Also contributing to the scoring was junior Braun Hobbs with 22 points and 9 rebounds.
A game will be held at Abernathy on Friday at 7:00 p.m. between Olton and Floydada to determine the #1 and #2 seeds in the district 4-2A for the playoffs.
