Ann McCormick (Lockney)

Ann McCormick, age 88, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024, in her home in Lockney. She was five days shy of her 70th wedding anniversary to her husband, Bobby. Graveside services were held at the Lockney Cemetery on February 19, 2024.

Ann was born on June 17, 1935, to Paul and Lillian Cooper in Lockney, Texas.

Ann graduated from Lockney High School in 1953. Shortly after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Bobby McCormick, on February 20, 1954. They shared the love of fishing, trips to Ruidoso, New Mexico, and family vacations to Red River, New Mexico. Ann enjoyed cooking for her family, including beautiful desserts. Ann’s joy was her two daughters, Janet and Joann, and her two granddaughters and four great-granddaughters. She loved to garden and do yard work and enjoy the outdoors peace. Playing weekly bridge was something she so enjoyed. She had the never-ending desire to serve the lord with her music ministry. Ann was both an organist and pianist for the Methodist church in Lockney for six decades. She also ministered on Wednesday mornings with music at the Lockney Care Center for over 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Paul Cooper.

Ann is survived by her husband Bobby McCormick, two daughters; Janet Wells and husband Tommy, Joann Carthel and husband Dart, two granddaughters, Tobi Boedeker, and husband Jimmy, Elizabeth Guerrero and husband Joey, four great granddaughters, Alexxa Lohn, Jackie Plant, Kennedy and Isabella Guerrero.
