FLOYDADA, TX – An industrial accident near Dougherty last week claimed the life of one man, and a second is recovering from the incident.
Authorities received a call around 4:30 pm Friday and found two men unresponsive. Both had been working in a basement without proper ventilation and were overcome with fumes.
31-year-old Edgar Aguilar of Lubbock was pronounced dead by Floyd County Justice of the Peace Darrell Rasco at WJ Mangold Memorial Hospital in Lockney. The second man was transported to a hospital in Lubbock and was listed in stable condition.
