FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds started their district schedule on Tuesday as they battled against the Hale Center Lady Owls.
The Lady Owls struck first in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.
Floydada would respond in the bottom of the third inning, scoring four runs and taking the lead 4-1.
The Lady Winds would strike again in the bottom of the fifth inning, adding three more runs to go ahead 7-2.
Hale Center scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but the Lady Winds would secure the district opener 7-4.
