
FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds were in district action on Tuesday as they battled the New Deal Lions.
In game one, the Lions were able to jump out to a 5-0 lead after the first two innings.
The Whirlwinds cut the lead down to 5-4 after a four run third inning.
New Deal would get their offense going in the top of the fifth inning with five runs and securing the game one victory 18-4.
In the second game, the Lions once again were able to jump out to an early 4-0 lead.
Floydada would score two in the top of the second, but still trailed 4-2.
New Deal would score eight in the third, one in the fourth, and four in the fifth to get the game two win 17-7.
Floydada falls to 0-2 to start district and will host Olton in their next game.
