LUBBOCK, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds battled against the Tahoka Lady Bulldogs in the first round of the bi-district playoffs in Lubbock on Saturday.
The Lady Winds fell to Tahoka in game one on Thursday, 16-5.
In game two, the Lady Winds started the game with two runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.
Floydada was able to extend their lead to 8-1 after four innings.
The Lady Winds would hold off a late comeback attempt from the Lady Bulldogs to secure the game-two victory, 13-8.
In game three of the series, both teams got on the board with two runs in the first inning, making it 2-2.
After three innings, the Lady Winds were able to gain a 7-3 lead.
Going into the top of the seventh inning, the Lady Bulldogs were trailing 9-4 and rallied to score four runs; however, the Lady Winds’ defense held strong and secured the 9-8 victory over Tahoka.
