WASHINGTON, DC—While we might say, “It’s raining cats and dogs,” this idiom is understood to represent heavy rainfall.

However, the phrase “it’s raining grizzly bears” will be literal in the Cascades of Washington state.

According to Rep. Dan Newhouse (WA-04), the U.S. government will be airdropping grizzlies into a forest where they haven’t been for a century.

Despite pleas from local and regional officials, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) has announced a plan to actively reintroduce three to seven deadly bears to this region every year.

Tony St. James learns more from Newhouse, a farmer and Chairman of the Congressional Western Caucus in this exclusive interview at the U.S. Capitol.
