FLOYDADA, TX – As the coronavirus shutdowns hit college campuses in 2020, two graduates of Floydada High School returned home looking for jobs.
Kiana Brown and Kylie Ricketts soon decided that creating their jobs would be more fun and exciting during uncertain times.
Now in its fifth season, the business they launched, The Scoop, still provides college and high school girls an opportunity to work while providing a unique product to the community.
“We sell ice cream, cookie dough, lemonades, and a variety of other sweet treats,” explains Pamela Ricketts. Her team this year includes familiar faces Tatum Glasscock, Ashlyn Green, Kailee Sanchez, and new this year, Callie Brittain.
The Scoop is open daily this summer (1:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m.) at 1234 South Ralls Highway and is the Floydada Chamber of Commerce’s June Business of the Month.
