Floydada, TX — Tuesday evening’s baseball game between the Floydada Whirlwinds and the Lockney Longhorns was suspended due to weather with the score tied at 3-3.
The game reached the top of the sixth inning with one out when lightning and rain forced officials to call for a delay. After waiting out the weather for a short time, the game was officially suspended.
Play is scheduled to resume Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in Floydada, starting from where the game left off.
Both teams had put up three runs apiece in a competitive matchup, with several solid plays in the field and timely hits on both sides. The game will continue with district implications still in play.
