
LOCKNEY, TX – Lockney High School proudly announces the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the graduating Class of 2025. This year’s top honors go to Bryson Klein as Valedictorian and Sophie Gutierrez as Salutatorian, both recognized for their outstanding academic achievements and dedication throughout their high school careers.
Bryson Klein, son of Diane Klein of Lockney, TX, and Jerry Klein Jr. of Amarillo, TX, has made a lasting impact at LHS through his involvement in various extracurricular activities. He is an active member of the Lockney Longhorn Band, National Honor Society, Student Council, UIL Science, Literary Criticism, and One Act Play. A four-time UIL State Science Qualifier and State Solo and Ensemble Gold Medalist, Bryson has demonstrated a passion for both the arts and academics. Outside of school, he enjoys playing the piano, reading, and watching movies. Bryson plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he will major in jazz piano performance.
Sophie Gutierrez, daughter of Angie and Shawn Kunselman, has also excelled both academically and in extracurriculars. She is a dedicated member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. Sophie competed in Powerlifting throughout all four years of high school, advancing to regionals during her senior year. She also participated in One Act Play and was a consistent competitor in UIL, reaching regionals during her freshman, junior, and senior years. Sophie plans to attend Angelo State University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with the goal of continuing on to earn a Master’s degree.
LHS commends both students for their exceptional accomplishments and wishes them continued success in their academic and professional journeys.
