LOCKNEY, TX — The City of Lockney is currently seeking applicants for its Summer Maintenance Help position. Those interested are encouraged to apply in person at City Hall.
This seasonal role supports the city’s Public Works Department with a variety of tasks focused primarily on parks maintenance. Under the general supervision of the Public Works Director, the position involves manual labor and semi-skilled duties across various maintenance activities.
Key responsibilities include mowing, weed-eating, cleaning public buildings, maintaining mowers and other equipment, trash pickup, painting, and installing equipment. The role also requires occasional operation of lawn equipment, tractors, and other machinery.
Employees may also be tasked with repairing or replacing damaged items in or around city-owned facilities and assisting with other projects involving city maintenance operations. Assignments are typically provided by a supervisor, but workers are expected to exercise some independent judgment regarding work methods and procedures.
The job requires both indoor and outdoor labor, often in challenging weather conditions. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 100 pounds and may encounter exposure to hazardous equipment.
