CANYON, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds saw their playoff run come to an end Saturday afternoon with a 9-0 loss to the Clarendon Lady Broncos in Game 3 of the 2A Regional Final. Despite the final score, the Lady Winds walk away from this season with heads held high after an incredible journey filled with grit, growth, and determination.
Clarendon jumped out to an early lead, scoring in five of the first six innings, while Floydada struggled to find a rhythm at the plate against a tough Lady Broncos pitcher. The Lady Winds managed just one hit in the game, while defensive miscues added challenges throughout the afternoon.
Still, this game doesn’t tell the full story of what the Lady Winds accomplished this season. From big district wins to clutch postseason performances—including an impressive Game 2 victory earlier in the day—this team has fought with heart and unity every step of the way.
Though the season ends here, the Lady Winds have much to be proud of. Their run to the Regional Final marks a significant achievement for the program, and it lays a strong foundation for the future. With talented underclassmen gaining invaluable experience and a community that rallies behind its team, Floydada softball is poised for more success in seasons to come.
To the seniors who led with passion and poise—thank you. Your legacy will carry on.
