FLOYDADA, TX – With heartfelt applause and deep community pride, Carolyn Cheek was honored as the 2025 Pioneer Woman of the Year at the 96th Annual Floyd County Old Settlers Reunion on Saturday in downtown Floydada.

Cheek, a beloved figure in the Floyd County community, has spent decades investing her time, energy, and compassion into improving the lives of those around her. Known for her tireless volunteerism, leadership in local organizations, and unwavering support for neighbors in need, she exemplifies the values of service, resilience, and dedication that the Pioneer Woman of the Year award celebrates.

“Carolyn has always been the kind of person who steps up without being asked,” said a community member during the presentation. “She has made a lasting impact on generations of Floydada families.”
