
FLOYDADA, TX — At the 96th Annual Floyd County Old Settlers Reunion held Saturday in the heart of downtown Floydada, Jim Huggins was named the 2025 Pioneer Man of the Year, a recognition of his enduring commitment to community, integrity, and tradition.
Huggins, a lifelong Floyd County resident, is known not only for his work ethic and quiet strength but also for his generosity and support of local causes.
“Jim represents what it means to be a true pioneer,” said a presenter at the event. “He lives with humility, leads with integrity, and always puts others before himself.”
The Pioneer Man of the Year award celebrates men whose lifelong dedication reflects the founding values of the region. Huggins’ legacy as a pillar of strength and humility will continue to inspire Floyd County for years to come.
