LOCKNEY, TX – W.J. Mangold continued to serve patients steadily in May, with notable activity across multiple departments and clinics.

At the Lockney Clinic, providers recorded 673 patient visits, including 55 new patients. The Silverton Clinic followed with 204 visits during the month.

Inpatient services included 7 acute admissions totaling 26 patient days and 10 observation stays. The Transitional Care (Swing Bed) program reported 3 discharges with 22 patient days in May.

Emergency room staff handled 180 visits during the month. Twelve procedures were performed across services, including four by the visiting pain management provider.

Outpatient services remained active, with the lab processing 2,865 tests and Radiology reporting 209 studies. Physical Therapy maintained a steady pace with 337 visits, and the specialty infusion service administered 8 outpatient treatments.

Financially, total gross revenue for the month reached $1,560,747 — below the budgeted $1.96 million but slightly ahead of the $1.45 million recorded in May 2024. Other operating revenue added $210,385, including a $125,000 Rural Hospital Stabilization Grant from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

However, adjustments totaling $1,097,251 — roughly 70% of billed charges — significantly impacted the bottom line. Total expenses were held below budget at $1,005,290. After factoring in $81,092 in non-operating revenue, the facility posted a net loss of $250,317 for May.
