FLOYDADA, TX – The following is a recent Crime Report from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.
On May 1st, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office received a report that someone had intercepted a $4,850.00 check and electronically deposited it into a Chase account in New Jersey. The case is still under investigation.
On May 4th, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a tan Chevrolet pickup towing a trailer in the 300 block of West Hallie Street in Floydada. Upon further investigation, the operator of the vehicle was found to have methamphetamines. Jonathan Ingram (48) was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Childress County Detention Center for housing.
May 7th, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office received a warrant for Robert Cuba Jr. (47) after a grand jury indicted him for Possession of Controlled Substances PG 1.
May 8th, a deputy responded to an assault that occurred in the 1400 block of County Road 72. The Complainant reported that she had been choked during the assault. Joshua Lambert (46) was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury.
May 6th, a Deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of SW 3rd Street, Lockney, regarding a single-vehicle accident. Ismael Chavarria (42) was arrested on five active warrants in Willacy County.
May 17th, while patrolling US 70, a deputy came across a white pickup that had rolled over in the median. The deputy made contact with the driver, who was found to be intoxicated. However, due to his injuries, he was released to Lockney EMS, who transported him to Lockney Mangold Memorial Hospital for treatment. This case is still under investigation.
May 17th, a deputy attempted to stop a red Toyota that was driving on the wrong side of the road on the Matador Highway. After a short chase, the vehicle stopped east of FM 602. The driver, Rolman Xivir-Garcia (21), was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and then later turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents.
On May 23rd, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white Kia Soul at Northeast 2nd Street and East Hartman for failing to signal 100 Feet before turning. While the deputy was questioning the driver about the use of narcotics, the driver admitted to having methamphetamines inside the vehicle. Christina Rangel-Lucio (49) was arrested for Possession of a controlled Substance.
On May 26th, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on US Highway 70 in Lockney involving a black Nissan Rogue that was traveling west without its lights on when required. While speaking with the driver and conducting a further investigation, the deputy discovered that the driver was intoxicated. Joann Gonzalez (39) was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child under 15 years old and Resisting Arrest.
May 31st, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a black GMC Sierra bearing Colorado license plates on US Highway 70 near Lockney, for failing to move over as required by law or slow down passing an emergency vehicle. As the deputy pulled behind the GMC Sierra, it failed to pull over. The pickup eventually pulled over, and once the deputy made contact with the driver, a probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle. Dominguez Gomez, Marta (18) of Fort Worth, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana >2oz <=4oz, Possession of Controlled Substance PG 2>= 1 G-4 G.
