LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney ISD Board of Trustees held its regular meeting on July 29, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The session took place in accordance with Government Code 551 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, ensuring full accessibility for all attendees.

The meeting began with the establishment of a quorum and a call to order, followed by an invocation. The Public Forum provided an opportunity for community members to address the board before proceeding with official agenda items.

Board members reviewed and approved the minutes from the previous meeting and authorized payment of current bills. A financial report was also presented, offering updates on the district’s fiscal status.

Several important items were considered and approved, including the TASB Risk Management Fund Contract, and the Lockney ISD Student Handbook, Student Code of Conduct, and Student Cell Phone Policy for the 2025–2026 school year. The board also approved the Dual Credit Agreement for Parents and Students, further supporting academic advancement opportunities.

In the personnel section of the meeting, board members reviewed and affirmed staffing matters.

During the Superintendent’s Report, two key updates were shared. First, a district-wide Community Prayer Walk is scheduled for Sunday, August 10th at 12:30 p.m., inviting families and staff to come together in support of the upcoming school year. Additionally, the board discussed potential changes related to Head Start combination options.

The agenda and notice of the meeting were officially posted on July 24, 2025, at 3:30 p.m., ensuring public awareness and transparency.
