FLOYDADA, TX – Today marks the first day of South Plains College classes for Floydada Collegiate High School students. This year, 160 students are enrolled in dual credit courses through SPC, giving them the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously.

Dual credit classes allow students to get a head start on their higher education while still in high school, easing the transition to college and helping families save on future tuition costs.

Floydada Collegiate High School and Floyd County ISD congratulated students on this milestone and shared their encouragement on social media: “We want to wish all of the 160 students taking dual credit classes at Floydada Collegiate High School the best of luck this semester!”

Administrators and teachers alike say they are proud of the students’ commitment to academics and excited to see them succeed as the semester gets underway.
