FLOYDADA, TX — The Floydada City Council held a special session on Tuesday, August 19, to discuss priorities for the upcoming 2025–2026 city budget. City Manager Darrell Gooch noted two major proposed purchases: new air packs for the Floydada Volunteer Fire Department and a generator for the Massie Activity Center, which will serve as an emergency heating and cooling site.
Gooch also recommended maintaining the current city tax rate for the upcoming year. However, he proposed increasing the landfill tipping fee from $42 to $46 per ton. The meeting adjourned at 6:14 p.m. with no formal action taken.
