FLOYDADA — The Floyd County Commissioners met for regular session on Monday, September 15, approving several items of business and canceling two upcoming meetings.

Commissioners approved payment of all county claims and accounts before hearing a presentation from Nicole Adams with Caprock Community Literacy. Adams shared details about adult education programs hosted at the Floyd County Library in Floydada, including job readiness, resume support, ESL, GED preparation, and more. A new local liaison, Connie Johnson, has also been added through the ACE program at A.B. Duncan.

The Court also approved a quarterly payment of $2,500 to Caprock Community Literacy.

Only one bid was received for the county’s depository contract for the 2025–2027 period — from First Texas National Bank — and was approved unanimously by the Court.

Commissioners also voted to cancel their regularly scheduled meetings for September 22 and September 29. No additional action items were considered during the court workshop.

Monday’s meeting was called to order at 8:04 a.m. by County Judge Marty Lucke. All four commissioners — Tanner Smith, Clint Bigham, Tanner Rance Young, and David Martinez — were present.
