FLOYDADA, TX — The Floydada City Council will hold its regular meeting Tuesday evening, September 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The agenda includes final discussions and action on the city’s 2025/2026 operating budget and tax rate, along with decisions on parking zones and landfill tipping fees.

A public forum will allow citizens to address the council before discussion begins on several ordinances. Among those is Ordinance 25-3, which would create a no-parking zone on the south side of Occidental Street, and Ordinance 25-4, adopting a new landfill tipping fee schedule. Council members will also vote on Ordinance 25-5, which finalizes the city’s property tax rate at $0.579964 per $100 valuation.

The council will also consider a resolution related to the senior citizens building, approve a utility services agreement allocation sheet, and review city investments. Two separate public hearings will precede the meeting at 6:15 p.m. — one for comments on the proposed operating budget and the other for feedback on the proposed 2025 property tax rate.

The full agenda is posted on the city’s website and at City Hall.
