Council To Weigh No-Parking Repeal, Grant Work

FLOYDADA, TX – The City Council will meet Tuesday, October 21, at 6:30 p.m. to take up a range of city matters, including parking regulations, airport improvements, and a proposed downtown revitalization grant.

Council members will consider Ordinance 25-3, which would repeal the no-parking zone on the south side of Crockett Street. Also up for discussion is the closure of the separate skatepark bank account and an agreement with Parkhill Engineers for pavement rehabilitation at the Floydada Municipal Airport.

The agenda includes action on Floydada Power & Light’s 2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan and an interlocal agreement tied to the Community Development Block Grant Program for downtown revitalization. A closed executive session will be held to discuss personnel matters involving City Manager Darrell Gooch, with possible action to follow.

Other items include approval of the September meeting minutes, a financial report, and a review of city expenses and transfers.
