
4-H Members competed at Grilling Games in Lubbock on Saturday.
LUBBOCK, TX – Floyd County 4-H Grilling Games project members recently showcased their cooking skills at the District 2 4-H Grilling Games competition, held Saturday at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Participants included Stetson Nutt, Paislee Nutt, Levi Campbell, Rhett Rainwater, Joseph Castaneda, and CJ Castaneda.
Contestants competed in five categories—corn, chicken, hamburger patty, pork chop, and dessert—demonstrating their ability to grill, prepare, and present a variety of dishes.
In the junior division, Stetson Nutt earned 5th place in pork, 3rd in hamburger patty, and 4th overall as a junior grill master. Paislee Nutt placed 5th in both the corn and chicken divisions. In the intermediate division, Rhett Rainwater took 1st place in the pork category, while Levi Campbell earned 2nd place in dessert. Representing the senior division, CJ Castaneda placed 5th in dessert.
The Floyd County 4-H Grilling Games project will continue through November and December, providing students more opportunities to build their culinary skills and compete. Those interested in joining are encouraged to contact the Floyd County Extension Office for more information.
