FLOYD COUNTY, TX – Families across Floyd County are invited to a day of free fun and community connection as Texas A&M AgriLife and the Texas A&M School of Medicine Rural Medicine Program host the upcoming Play in the Park event on Saturday, November 22.
The event is designed for all ages and aims to promote outdoor activity, family engagement, and community wellness. Two sessions will be held to make the event accessible for families in both communities:
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at Lockney City Park
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Floydada City Park
Attendees can expect a variety of activities for children and adults, including outdoor games, interactive play stations, and opportunities to learn more about family health and community resources. The event will also feature door prizes, adding an extra layer of excitement for participants.
Organizers say the goal is to provide a simple, joyful opportunity for families to get outdoors and spend quality time together.
The event is hosted by the Floyd County Family & Community Health Planning Committee, along with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension partners, who emphasize that the day is about building community relationships while encouraging healthy habits.
Both sessions are free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to bring comfortable shoes, a playful spirit, and a willingness to enjoy a day of fun in the park.
