FLOYD COUNTY, TX – With Thanksgiving just around the corner, excitement is building across Floyd County as students, teachers, and staff look forward to a well-deserved break. This year, both Floydada Collegiate ISD and Lockney ISD will observe a full week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, giving families more time to travel, gather, and enjoy seasonal traditions together.

The Thanksgiving break for both districts will run from November 24–28, 2025, aligning the schedules of the two neighboring school systems and allowing local families with children in multiple campuses to plan easily. As classrooms wrap up lessons, projects, and activities leading into the holiday, students are buzzing with anticipation for the extended time away from school.

For many in Floyd County, the week of Thanksgiving marks the start of cherished routines—family meals, fall weather, local events, and opportunities to rest before the busy December season begins. Educators and staff are also preparing for the pause, using the time to recharge and return ready for the final weeks of the semester.

The community is encouraged to make the most of the upcoming break by enjoying time with loved ones and embracing the spirit of gratitude that Thanksgiving brings. As the county enters the holiday week, warm wishes go out to all families, students, and school employees across Floydada and Lockney.

Have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving holiday.
