LOCKNEY, TX – Lockney High School is set to celebrate a special addition to its campus as students, staff, and community members gather to dedicate Legend the Longhorn on Monday, December 15, 2025. The ceremony will take place at 12:30 p.m. on the front steps of LHS, and all members of the community are invited to attend.
The new longhorn statue, now proudly displayed at the school’s entrance, symbolizes the pride, tradition, and spirit of the Lockney Longhorns. School officials say the dedication is an opportunity to honor the donors who helped bring the project to life.
Lockney High School extends its gratitude to the following supporters for their generous contributions: Plainview Serenity Center, John & Karen Quebe, Andy Stapp, LHS Student Council, LHS Class of 2014, and LHS Class of 2015.
The school encourages students, alumni, and local residents to join in celebrating this lasting landmark for future generations of Longhorns.
