FLOYDADA, TX – The Floyd County 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl teams showcased their knowledge and quick thinking on Monday, December 8th, during a special presentation and friendly competition against the Floyd County Commissioners Court. The event gives local youth an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in animal science, livestock management, and problem-solving—while also offering county leaders a fun challenge.
The contest featured all three county teams: Junior, Intermediate, and Senior, each guided by Livestock Quiz Bowl Coach KeeLee Rawls.
Junior Quiz Bowl Team
The Junior team, consisting of Lakyn Rawls, Samantha Nelson, and Lillian Luna, who stepped in to fill spots for missing teammates, delivered an impressive performance. The team secured a 7–1 win over the Commissioners Court.
Intermediate Quiz Bowl Team
Represented by Landon Rawls, Braxton Powell, Lillian Luna, and Olivia Powell, the Intermediate team also claimed victory with a strong showing. They topped the Commissioners Court with a final score of 9–4.
Senior 4-H Quiz Bowl Team
The Senior team included Emma Nelson, Grayson Powell, and Lillian Luna. The Senior competitors wrapped up the day with a close and exciting 10–7 win, securing a sweep for Floyd County 4-H.
Coach Rawls said she was proud of the teams’ preparation and poise, noting how well the youth represented Floyd County 4-H.
The Commissioners Court praised the students’ knowledge and sportsmanship, making the event both educational and enjoyable for everyone involved.
The strong performances across all divisions highlight the dedication of Floyd County’s 4-H members and the continued support of county leadership for youth agricultural programs.
