FLOYDADA, TX – A major new housing addition has officially risen on the west side of town, marking a milestone for Floyd County. Residents have likely spotted the pair of striking two-story buildings, one green and one black, near the intersection of Highways 62 and 70. Now, the community is invited to step inside and see what the excitement is all about.
Llano Vista Properties and Llano Vista Stays will host an Open House on Saturday, January 10, 2026, giving the public their first look at what are believed to be the only two-story residential units in the entire county. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 902 & 904 Garrison St., Floydada.
These newly constructed apartments represent something more than just additional housing, they highlight a project built entirely by Floydada locals, showcasing community craftsmanship from start to finish.
Organizers shared the following statement:
“You’ve probably noticed the two striking new buildings, one green and one black, going up at the intersection of Highway 62 and 70. We’ve had a lot of folks stopping by during construction asking what we’re building and if they can take a peek inside, so we decided to open the doors.
We’d like to invite you and the community to an Open House on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
These are the first brand-new apartments Floydada has seen in a long time, and we believe they’re the only two-story residential units in the entire county.
What makes this project extra special is that it was built entirely by Floydada locals:
Crone Construction – Scott Crone designed and led the build
Holmes Plumbing – Steve Holmes handled all plumbing work
Cornelius Custom Labor – Jordan Cornelius completed all interior finish work
Ace Hardware – Wesley Anderson supplied material
First Texas National Bank – Provided financing
King Carpet Plus (Plainview) – Flooring
This is Floydada taking care of Floydada. These buildings will help house the many crews coming to town to work on new power infrastructure and AI data centers.
