LOCKNEY, TX – Lockney Independent School District will begin its Christmas break on Thursday, December 18, a release for students at 4:15 p.m., marking the start of the holiday season for families across the district.
Students will officially begin their Christmas vacation on Friday, December 19, and will remain out of school through Tuesday, January 6, 2026. During this time, students will enjoy an extended break to celebrate the holidays, spend time with family and friends, and recharge before the second half of the school year.
Teachers will return to campus on Monday, January 5, 2026, for a scheduled in-service day. This time will be used for planning, professional development, and preparation as educators get ready for the start of the second semester.
Students will return to classrooms on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, with the school day beginning at 7:50 a.m. Lockney ISD encourages families to plan accordingly and wishes all students, staff, and community members a safe and enjoyable Christmas season.
