
FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds started district play on Friday against the Tahoka Bulldogs in Floydada.
The first quarter was a back and forth game early, but the Whirlwinds were able to jump out to a 14-7 lead at the end of the first.
In the second quarter, the Bulldogs fought back and cut the lead down to one going into halftime with a score of 21-20.
The Whirlwinds made a comeback of their own in an intense fourth quarter and secured the district opener by a score of 41-36.
The Whirlwinds move to 4-12 overall and 1-0 in district play.
Floydada will host Tulia on Tuesday in a non-district game.
