FLOYDADA, TX – Lighthouse Electric Cooperative is inviting high school students from across the region to apply for its annual Youth Tour contest, set to take place on February 24.
Students enrolled in Abernathy, Crosbyton, Hale Center, Hedley, Floydada, Lockney, Memphis, Motley County, Petersburg, Plainview, Ralls, Silverton, and Valley ISD are eligible to apply. To qualify, students must be 16 years old by June 14.
The Youth Tour contest offers two selected students the opportunity to win what Lighthouse Electric Cooperative describes as a “trip of a lifetime” to Washington, D.C., along with a $1,500 scholarship. The Washington, D.C. trip allows students to gain a firsthand look at the nation’s capital, learn about government and leadership, and connect with students from across the country.
