LOCKNEY, TX -Third grade students at Lockney Elementary recently took part in a hands-on robotics lesson led by Ashleigh Hillemeyer from the Floyd County Extension Office. The visit gave students an opportunity to explore basic engineering and problem-solving skills through interactive learning.

During the lesson, students worked together to build robots with guidance and support from the Floyd County Extension Service. The activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking while introducing students to foundational concepts in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Teachers and staff expressed appreciation for the Extension Service’s continued partnership and commitment to providing engaging, educational experiences for students. Programs like this help spark curiosity and expose students to new skills at an early age, making learning both challenging and fun for Lockney Elementary’s Little Longhorns.
