
LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual banquet on Saturday, February 7, 2026, bringing together community members, business leaders, and local organizations for an evening of celebration and fellowship. The event was held in the Lockney Elementary cafeteria, which was transformed into a lively gathering space filled with laughter, recognition, and community pride.
The evening featured a delicious meal, the presentation of several community awards, and multiple rounds of bingo that kept guests entertained throughout the night. The banquet continues to serve as an important tradition in Lockney, highlighting the dedication, generosity, and spirit that help keep the community strong. Local businesses once again demonstrated their support by donating a wide variety of prizes that were distributed throughout the evening, adding excitement and appreciation for those in attendance.
One of the most anticipated moments of the night is always the presentation of the Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year awards. These honors recognize individuals and organizations that go above and beyond in their service to the Lockney community.
The 2026 Citizen of the Year award was presented to the Little Longhorn Parent Club, a dedicated group of parents who generously volunteer their time and energy to support Lockney ISD. Through their involvement in school events, student activities, and campus support efforts, this group plays an important role in enhancing opportunities for students and strengthening the connection between families and the school district.
The Business of the Year award was presented to Cervantes Photography. Owners Fred and Gracie have built a respected business while also consistently supporting local events and organizations. Their willingness to capture special moments for families, schools, and community gatherings has made them a valued part of Lockney. Their dedication to both their profession and their community continues to leave a positive impact.
The Lockney Volunteer Fire Department was also recognized for its ongoing service and commitment to protecting the community. Sharing the honor of Fireman of the Year were Justin Graves and Austen Rexrode. Both individuals were recognized for their dedication, training, and countless hours spent responding to emergencies and assisting residents in times of need.
The annual banquet serves as a reminder of the strong sense of unity and volunteerism that defines Lockney.
