FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Lady Winds softball was in action against the Highland Park Lady Hornets on Tuesday.
The Lady Winds started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning off a Bella Perez RBI single.
Floydada continued their scoring in the bottom of the second inning, with RBIs from Abree Castillo and Brooklyn Pyle. Alli Hernandez had a triple and scored off a wild pitch, and the Lady Winds led 5-0.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lady Winds offense were able to take advantage of a pitching change and secured the victory 17-1.
Floydada’s Abree Castillo dominated in the circle, securing 11 strikeouts in the victory on Tuesday.
The Lady Winds will start the KFLIP Softball Tournament on Thursday as they battle Muleshoe in the opening game at 8:00 a.m.
