FLOYDADA, TX – Students and staff are invited to trade their regular school attire for comfy pajamas on Monday, March 2, as part of a special community service event aimed at fighting hunger in Floyd County.

The “Pajamas for Cans” day encourages Whirlwinds to bring $1 to donate in exchange for wearing their favorite pajamas to school. All proceeds will benefit the Souper Bowl of Caring Canned Food Drive, with donations staying local to support families in Floyd County.

Organizers say the event is a simple but meaningful way for students to make a difference.

“Whirlwinds, help us tackle hunger in our community,” the flyer states, highlighting the school’s commitment to giving back while having a little fun.

The Souper Bowl of Caring is a nationwide movement that mobilizes youth to collect donations and canned goods to help local food banks and charities. In Floyd County, funds raised will directly support local hunger relief efforts.

The event is supported by Texas A&M AgriLife and local organizers who hope to see strong participation across campus.

Students are encouraged to bring their $1 donation on Monday, March 2, wear school-appropriate pajamas, and help make a positive impact in the community.
