Floydada Tennis Athletes Shine on the Court Monday

FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Collegiate ISD tennis team turned in a strong performance during their meet earlier this week, earning several top finishes and showcasing the program’s depth across singles and doubles competition.

Leading the way for Floydada was Hiram Lopez, who captured 1st place in boys singles, delivering an impressive performance throughout the tournament. Lopez’s win highlighted a successful day for the Whirlwinds on the court.

In boys doubles, the duo of Darren Pleasant and David Guerra also earned 1st place, working together effectively to secure the top spot in their division.

Additional strong finishes came from several other Floydada athletes. Braeden Ramirez placed 4th in boys singles, while Katie Landin finished 4th in girls singles. Natalie Garza also represented Floydada well, earning 5th place in girls singles competition.

With multiple athletes placing in the top five and two first-place finishes, the Floydada team continues to build momentum as the tennis season progresses.

Coaches and supporters praised the athletes for their effort and sportsmanship, noting that the results reflect the hard work the team has put in during practices and early-season matches.

The Floydada tennis team will look to carry that momentum into their upcoming competitions as the season continues.
