POST, TX – The Floydada Collegiate High School One Act Play team delivered a strong performance Saturday during district competition in Post, earning several individual honors and finishing just outside the advancement spots.
Floydada placed fourth overall in the contest and was named the alternate play, meaning the team could advance if one of the top three schools is unable to continue in the competition.
Several Floydada students were recognized for their performances on stage. Isabel Johnston, David Guerra, and Wesley Crowe were each named to the All-Star Cast, an honor awarded to outstanding performers during the contest.
Renae Delgado also received recognition, earning Honorable Mention All-Star Cast honors for her role in the production.
Anastacia Lopez was recognized for her work on the technical side of the performance, receiving a Technical Award for her contributions to the production.
The One Act Play competition is part of the University Interscholastic League’s academic contests, where schools perform a shortened theatrical production and are judged on acting, technical elements, and overall presentation.
Despite narrowly missing the top three, Floydada’s cast and crew brought home multiple individual honors and showcased the talent and dedication of the school’s theatre program.
