FLOYD COUNTY, TX – Members of Floyd County 4‑H will soon have the opportunity to showcase their talents as part of the upcoming District 2 4‑H Talent Show Contest. The event gives 4-H youth a chance to demonstrate their creativity and performance abilities while representing their local clubs at the district level.

Students in grades 3 through 12 who are involved in 4-H are encouraged to participate in the contest, which highlights a wide variety of talents. Participants may choose to perform musical pieces, dances, cheer routines, or instrumental performances. Other acts can include reading prose or poetry, performing a short skit, or presenting another unique talent. The competition is designed to give young people a platform to build confidence, practice public performance, and share their skills with others.

An informational meeting will be held this Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Floyd County Extension Office for students interested in competing. During the meeting, 4-H members and their families will learn more about contest guidelines, entry requirements, and important deadlines for the District 2 competition.

The 4-H talent contest is part of the broader youth development programs offered through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. These programs provide opportunities for young people to develop leadership, communication, and life skills through hands-on experiences and community involvement.

Local 4-H leaders encourage members who enjoy performing or sharing creative talents to attend the meeting and learn how they can be part of this year’s District 2 contest. The event offers a fun and supportive environment where youth can gain experience, represent their county, and celebrate the diverse talents of 4-H members across the region.
