FLOYDADA, TX – The Floydada Whirlwinds hosted the Memphis Cyclones in the district opener on Tuesday.
The Whirlwinds started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning, scoring nine runs, making it 9-0.
Floydada continued to add to their lead in the second inning, scoring three more and making it 12-0.
The Whirlwinds defense held Memphis scoreless and secured the district victory 17-0.
Floydada moves to 9-6 overall and 1-0 in district play.
They will travel to Wellington on Saturday to continue district play.
