LOCKNEY, TX – The Lockney Longhorns hosted the Wellington Skyrockets in a district competition on Tuesday.
The Longhorns took the lead in the bottom of the first, going up 2-0.
Wellington took the lead with four runs in the second and two in the fourth, making it 6-5.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Longhorns regained the lead after scoring three runs, going up 8-6.
The Skyrockets fought back to tie the game in the top of the seventh after scoring two runs and making it 8-8.
In extra innings, Wellington scored one run and held the Longhorns in the bottom of the eighth to secure the victory 9-8.
Lockney falls to 5-9 overall and 0-3 in district.
